Visual analytics make deciphering the data more intuitive, providing a top down view of the impact of visitor traffic. Visual Analytics The visual data is color coded to represent density of the population. The data can be animated to play, pause or stop to further illustrate visitor traffic and patterns over specific time periods. Our Indoor Map Platform will display your data against retail, museum or warehouse floor layouts in order to determine what areas of your facility attract the largest volume of visitors and what they’re interested in. Challenge As its name suggests, the National Museum of Korea is the flagship museum of Korean history, art and archaeology. Its Dragon Theater is a multi-purpose venue of 862 seats, showcasing a wide variety of productions, including plays, dance, and musicals. Across its many programs, the Museum draws in over 3 million visitors a year, making it one of the most visited museums in the world. The Museum hoped to leverage customer reservation data to help in its continuous development of new exhibitions and research programs. Unfortunately, that information was owned by the vendor that managed the event and exhibit ticketing system — requiring the Museum to pay additional fees to access. Solution A custom ticket reservation and purchasing system hosted on the National Museum of Korea website provided a modernized process for streamlined data collection and ownership. This allowed the Museum to learn from, program for, and promote to its visitors. The Docent Advan

S Mall: Making Foot Traffic Counts

* client's name is undisclosed Challenge The popular S Mall* is the thirteenth largest in the world. Its showpiece S department store is one of the most active department stores in the city. A cornerstone of the 63 location chain, S Department Store* at S Mall is familiar with big numbers in customers and employees. At the same time, those numbers can be a source of confusion — and concern. S Department Store has multiple entrances and is located at the intersection of the Mall, an arena and a bus terminal. Docent Corp Solutions: Indoor Positioning System

What does an IPS (Indoor Positioning System) do? People use positioning systems such as GPS on an hourly basis without realizing it. However, GPS doesn’t work inside a building and does not provide enough accuracy to be useful in indoor venues where things are very close to each other. Indoor Location Based Services will help customers find products and services quickly and easily. In an indoor setting, high accuracy is the key. An Indoor Positioning System must provide much greater accuracy compared to GPS, which is used over long distances or areas. A General Rule of Thumb In order to implement a positioning system, you must have several reference points with a known location or a known path of movement. In the case of GPS, there are satellites with a known trajectory orbiting the earth. For indoor locations, you need to have some kind of device installed in the building that provides reference points (the exception is photographic positioning, which mimics the complex
